BBC Two Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
At 9pm on Saturday 13th June 2015, Bill made his TV debut on BBC Two. Having entered the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition with his oil painting ‘Into the Light’, he made it through the highly competitive first round and, on his visit to deliver the work to the Royal Academy in London, attracted the attention of the BBC.
Subsequently, Bill was interviewed at home and filmed in his art studio in Newton Aycliffe by a film crew, who then made a further journey up north to meet Bill again at his daughter’s house in Darlington, in order to learn whether he had made it through to the final stages.
